1.generally speaking總體上講
【例】Generally speaking there was no resistance to the idea
一般說來，沒有人會反對這個觀點。
2.to begin with首先
【例】To begin with,they came to class and told my friend they were not very happy;
剛開始，他們去上課時告訴我朋友，說他們不太高興；
3.in the first place首先
【例】In the firstplace,she can read at the rate of 100 words a minute首先，她能每分鐘閱讀100字。
4.first of all第一，首先
【例】First of all we must identify the problem areas.首先我們必須找出問題所在。

2.therefore,thus因此
【例】He's only 17 and therefore not eligible to vote.他只有17歲，因此沒有投票選舉的資格。
【例】Thus，taking morning exercises regularly may reduce the chances of getting sick.
因此，定期進行晨練可以減少生病的概率。
四、邏輯連接詞語

| 條件關系 | If so,if possible,provide that |
| 對比關系 | on the contrary,contrary to,conversely |
| 歸納總結關系 | in brief,in short.the conclusion can be drawn that... |
